Unlike self-led or at-home Pilates instructor training, the Indy School of Pilates program incorporates valuable classroom-based instruction.

Pilates Mat Instructor Training

Mat Training Completion Requirements

To complete the Indy School of Pilates Mat Instructor Training Program, each participant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • 100 total hours required for completion, including:
    • Classroom-based Mat modules (30 hours)
    • Observation (20 hours)
    • Personal Practice (20 hours)
    • Student Teaching (30 hours)
  • Pass the Mid-Term Written Mat Exam (End of Session 1)
  • Pass the Final Practical Mat Exam (End of Session 2)
  • Write a paper about a client who you will teach a customized class/lesson using the Pilates Mat Repertoire
  • Teach a client live with training instructor as an observer or recorded with recording submitted to the instructor

Upon completing the requirements listed above, trainees will receive a certificate declaring the successful completion of the Indy School of Pilates - Pilates Mat Training Program, which also recognizes the fulfillment of the required hours and passing of the training exams.

Pilates Equipment Instructor Training

Equipment Training Completion Requirements

To complete the Indy School of Pilates Equipment Instructor Training Program, each participant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Pre-Requisite: Completion of the classroom-based training portion (30 hours) of the Indy School of Pilates Mat Training Program
  • 450 total hours required for completion, including:
    • Classroom-based Equipment modules (50 hours)
    • Observation (100 hours)
    • Personal Practice (150 hours)
    • Student Teaching (150 hours)
  • Pass the Mid-Term Written Equipment Exam (End of Session 3)
  • Pass the Final Practical Equipment Exam (End of Session 5)
  • Write a paper about a client who you will teach a customized class/lesson using the Pilates Equipment Repertoire
  • Teach a client live with training instructor as an observer or recorded with recording submitted to the instructor
