Always active and outgoing, Rachel has been involved in fitness and sports since she was in high school. While training for a mini-marathon, Rachel suffered a debilitating back injury. After a major spinal fusion operation, she was confined to a bed or wheelchair for 80% of her waking hours.

After two separate rounds of traditional physical therapy, heavy medication, and overwhelming frustration with mainstream rehabilitation, Rachel committed to private Pilates equipment sessions. This was her last effort to regain strength, endurance, flexibility, and mobility.

Within a few sessions, the results were amazing and inspiring. Her pain subsides was able to participate in her day-to-day activities stronger than ever before.

A sense of joy and duty has fueled Rachel's desire to share the life-changing benefits of the Pilates method. She completed 2 separate Pilates Master certifications, along with several other fitness certifications.

Rachel completed the comprehensive Pilates certification from the world-renowned Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI) and eventually completed another series of training to complete BASI's Master-Mentor certification.

Rachel was selected among only a few individuals in the world to take part in the Pilates Master Mentor Program. This program was led by Lolita San Miguel - one of only two people to have received official certification from Joseph Pilates himself. This intensive, two-year, by-invitation only program, described as "The Spirit of The Method", was received by Ms. San Miguel directly from Joseph and Clara Pilates.

After completing this second Pilates Master certification, Rachel wishes to share the tradition of quality with other Pilates instructors. Rachel is one of the very few in the world to hold this honored distinction. She the only Pilates instructor in Indiana to have completed this program.

Rachel considered her Pilates Master certifications as the beginning of helping others with pain and physical dysfunction. She then also completed training in four separate types of therapeutic modalities - Neurokinetic Therapy® (NKT®), Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex® (P-DTR®)The VOILÀ Method of Structural Joint Balancing, and Amino Neuro Frequency Therapy.

The results have been nothing short of miraculous for the many clients who have benefited from these techniques.

Rachel's personal experiences and love for the Pilates method continues to drive her toward sharing its benefits with as many people as she can. She credits Pilates for balancing her body and providing her the ability to return to life. Rachel hopes that you will allow her an opportunity to share some of the amazing benefits of the Pilates method with you.

"Pilates changed my life forever... Allow me to show you how it can change yours!"

Certified Yoga Instructor

Kevin has been a fitness instructor since 2005 and has received the FiTour yoga instructor certification, as well as the Physical Mind Institute mat Pilates certification. He began instructing indoor cycling classes at the Greenwood (Indiana) Community Center where he had also been a member for 10 years. After being involved in a car accident in November 2004, Kevin added yoga to his weight-training and cycling, which facilitated his recovery - and discovered that it's an amazing workout. It's fun, challenging and easy to practice at home and even while on vacation, which is why Kevin encourages his students to fit a yoga workout into their busy schedules.

He began taking Pilates mat classes in 2007 and found this challenging method to be highly beneficial toward developing even greater strength and flexibility, not to mention very enjoyable. Currently, Kevin is focused on the next steps in his Pilates career. He's working toward his comprehensive Pilates certification through BASI (Body Arts and Sciences International), which allows him to provide training on Pilates equipment.

Having found the benefits of the Pilates method as nothing short of amazing, Kevin believes that you will also find that it will improve your performance in other workout routines, increase overall strength, lead to a healthier lifestyle, help you to achieve your fitness goals, and bring about significant change in your physical appearance - all while helping you simply feel better.

Kevin enjoys spending time with friends, family and his wife, Amanda. He has competed in 2 marathons (26.2 miles) and several half marathons (13.1 miles). He also began competing in triathlons in 2009. Kevin looks forward to helping you along your fitness journey!

Then, Lyndie completed a TRX Training program with Rachel to help bring TRX to Indy House of Pilates. She has also completed the TRX Sports Medicine program to continue her growth as an instructor.

Emily Richard

Pilates Instructor (Apprentice)

Pilates Instructor (Apprentice)

Emily has always loved finding ways to stay active. She regularly plays tennis, cycles, practices yoga, lifts weights, and group fitness classes. Pilates became a pivotal part of her wellness routine after acute hip pain kept her from participating in many of the things that she used to enjoy. She found that it allowed her to maintain fitness, build muscle, and find relief from constant pain.

After developing a regular practice, Emily decided she wanted to take a deeper dive and attended Pilates instructor training. She wanted to grow even more and to help others learn about the exercise method that helped her to heal from chronic pain and gain strength. While researching training programs, Emily read Rachael William's story of using Pilates to recover from back injury, which profoundly resonated with her.

Emily was among the first to complete the classroom-based training offered through the Indy School of Pilates instructor training program. She taught her first apprentice class just 9 weeks after her hip replacement surgery and is working toward obtaining full certification through student teaching, observation, and a continually evolving personal Pilates practice.

When she isn't at the studio, Emily can most likely be found volunteering for Love of Labs, a local dog rescue group, or driving all over the city in search of the perfect brunch.

Pilates Instructor (Apprentice)

A lifelong athlete and competitive swimmer, Ali first joined the Indy House of Pilates family in 2015 seeking to complement her current fitness regimen.Shortly after she began taking classes, Ali learned that she was pregnant which led to a major shift in her training focus. She became intensely interested in the pre and postpartum benefits of Pilates, and its general benefits to women;s health. Through personal research, and working with her doctor and the staff at IHP, she was able to continue her practice throughout her pregnancy, and fully credits this for helping her to achieve her birthing and postpartum goals. Ali and her husband Nick welcomed a their healthy, happy, beautiful son, August, in June of 2016.

Seeking to share the benefits of Pilates with others, Ali enrolled in Pilates instructor training with Indy School of Pilates. While working toward full certification, she continues to focus her personal practice on forging a strong mind-body connection and building functional strength. And while she's a strong advocate for Pilates as a key to women's wellness, Ali has also seen her husband use Pilates to address various sports-related injuries. With the right approach, she truly believes Pilates is for everybody.

Ali is passionate about motherhood, volunteering, animal rescue, and coffee (not necessarily in that order). Outside of the studio, you can find her traveling and exploring the world with Nick and August, or just down the street at Long's Donuts.

Caroline Ammon

Pilates Instructor (Apprentice)

An avid traveler and student, Caroline grew up on a farm in the mountains of North Carolina and has always enjoyed staying physically active. In her childhood, Caroline was a gymnast and progressed as an Olympic hopeful. In 2010, she developed severe chronic joint pain, which made it impossible to continue training in gymnastics.

Caroline began regularly attending yoga and Pilates classes at her local gym, which she recalls were not as intensive as those she later discovered at Indy House of Pilates. Her experiences at Indy House of Pilates established the beginning of her new-found interest in the Pilates method. Amazed by the diversity of students, she began reading more about Pilates and how it helps toward rehabilitation and injury recovery.

Today, with the help and support from friends, family, and IHP instructors Rachel Williams and Tolga Yildiz, Caroline is quickly progressing toward achieving a comprehensive Pilates Instructor certification through Indy School of Pilates. She strives to share her passion with others and to help them toward experiencing lifelong fitness.

Caroline's other passions include her continuing education, traveling, hiking, climbing, horseback riding, triathlon-style training, photography, and spending quality time with family and friends.
