Abby Hamilton

Abby grew up showing, training, and caring for horses. This provided her with an understanding of the importance of how proper health and preventative care result in fewer injuries and lower veterinary bills, or, in the case of people, fewer trips to the doctor and lower medical expenses.
Her love for horses led her to
Equissage, an equine (horse) massage certification course. Shortly after completing the course in 1998 and starting her own business, horse owners began asking questions about their own health problems. She realized that she needed to expand her knowledge and enrolled in a (human) massage certification course. Abby received her massage certification in 2000 from Professional Careers Institute (now Kaplan College), where she studied anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Abby continues to develop her knowledge and skills by pursuing a
Masters of Occupational Therapy, which she expects to complete at the University of Indianapolis in 2012.

Descriptions of Therapeutic Massage Services
In addition to traditional Swedish and deep-tissue methods, the therapies described below also being offered:
Hot Stone Massage:
Smooth, heated stones are placed on the body at various trigger points to relax the muscles in order to release tension. The stones may also be held in the practitioner's hands while gliding them over the muscles using heat and friction to allow you to achieve rest and relaxation for body and mind.
Raindrop Therapy Technique:
This is a powerful, non-invasive tool for assisting the body toward correcting defects in the curvature of the spine, as well as to open the sinuses and aid in relaxation. Nine therapeutic-grade essential oils are layered along the spine in addition to a therapeutic massage session.
Gua Sha:
This is a healing technique used in Asia by practitioners of Traditional Medicine, in both the clinical setting and in homes, but little known in the West. This tool is intended to break up adhesions in the muscle tissue and facilitate blood flow in these areas.
Tuning Forks:
Two different styles of tuning forks may be used during your session to promote relaxation of soft tissues by incorporating a soft, soothing vibration that helps to relieve acute soreness. Solfeggio Scale Tuning Forks are a form of sound therapy and facilitate balanced energy and chakras.
